Purpose

Lauregan's Travel was created to help people fulfill their goals and dreams of earning money from home.  We do this by providing everything needed to start and maintain a successful travel business. 

Background

Founded by our president, Linda Jones, Lauregan’s Travel originated as Discount Travel Store back in January 2004.  Linda was a mom who desperately wanted to stay home with her preschooler.  Unfortunately, her husband didn’t make enough money for them to live off of his salary.  They started saving so she could stay home but a difficult second pregnancy forced her to do so earlier than they expected.  She decided then and there that, come what may, she wasn’t going back to work. 

Fortunately, Linda and her husband made ends meet by using credit cards, refinancing their home, and cutting back…A LOT.  Unfortunately, they succeeded in falling more and more in debt (though they felt it was worth it for Linda to stay home).  So, she started looking for ways to make money from home.  She tried selling products, throwing parties, and recruiting but hated every minute of it.  Finally, a friend told her about being a Travel Agent from home.   She couldn’t believe it!  This was something she had always loved doing but could never figure out how to “break in” to the industry.   

When Linda first started she was working with a Host Agency, just like you are considering.  It was easy to start and fairly easy to learn.  It also felt real – like it was her own, legitimate business.  That sounds strange but you have to understand, she had just come from trying every other conceivable home based business.  Not only did she not like them, she never felt like any of them were truly her own business.  Linda always felt like she was working for the other company. 

As she began working in travel she realized how real and satisfying a home based business is.  Linda knew right away that she wanted to help others start their own travel agencies from home. 

Fast forward to today – Linda now owns Lauregan’s Incorporated, which is the parent company of Lauregan’s Travel and Discount Travel Store (both of which support agents nationwide).   It is now her privilege and pleasure to help others attain the freedom and satisfaction of having their own business.
